The Ai BC-6F 6 Ft Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet is a NSF/ANSI 49 certified biological safety cabinet designed to safely handle biological materials while protecting laboratory personnel, research samples, and the surrounding environment.
A biosafety cabinet (BSC)—also referred to as a biological safety cabinet or microbiological safety cabinet—is an enclosed, ventilated laboratory workstation used when working with materials contaminated with or potentially contaminated by pathogens requiring a defined biosafety level.
The primary purpose of a biosafety cabinet is to prevent exposure to infectious agents while maintaining sterile conditions for laboratory procedures. The Ai Class II Type A2 cabinet uses advanced HEPA filtration and controlled airflow to remove harmful bacteria, viruses, and particulates before air exits the cabinet.
Unlike laminar flow clean benches that blow unfiltered air toward the user, this Class II biosafety cabinet filters all exhaust air through HEPA filters, making it ideal for microbiology research, pharmaceutical laboratories, virology testing, vaccine development, and COVID-19 specimen handling.

What Is a Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet?
A Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinet protects:

Air enters through the front opening, creating a protective inward airflow barrier that prevents contaminated air from escaping the cabinet.

Operating Procedure
Before Use

Fully close the front glass panel.

Activate the UV sterilization light for 30 minutes.

Leave the room during the sterilization cycle.

Raise the front glass panel to the recommended opening height.

Turn on airflow circulation for 10 minutes before beginning work.
After Use

Fully close the glass panel.

Turn on the UV light for another 30 minutes for decontamination.
Biosafety Cabinet Usage Guidelines
To maintain proper containment and safety:
• Do not use flammable or explosive materials inside the cabinet
• Avoid volatile chemicals that could damage HEPA filters
• Do not release toxic chemical vapors into the cabinet
• Open flames are prohibited as they disrupt airflow patterns
• Use ≤10 mL disinfectant alcohol if needed
